Overview of Job

GroupM APAC is seeking an experienced Regional Process Owner – Biddable to be part of a transformational change team in the largest media agency group in APAC. Each Regional Process Owner (RPO) will be responsible for an individual media process specialism, and the strategy and direction of that process’s continued improvement. This role spans across biddable technologies across media planning, implementation, tracking and reporting requirements for display and video across the landscape of social, search, programmatic, adops and eCommerce disciplines.

Measures of Success
In three months, you would have:

  • Got to know key Process Owners and other stakeholders of the transformation plan
  • Reviewed the workstream in progress with core and accelerated markets and identify areas for improvements across biddable media planning, implementation and optimization procedures and workflows.
  • Identified the short-term wins
  • Familiarize with GroupM and agencies’ operating models across APAC markets

In six months, you would have:

  • Built relationships with local teams (SMEs and champions) to understand business needs
  • Support local market on identify possible solutions to medium term challenges such as addressing and consulting on market pain points to stipulate into longer res
  • Identified opportunities on further simplifying and standardizing existing reports, and worked with technical teams to roll out updated reports based on business needs

Continued the market rollout plans on optimizing the business process and organizational structure

In twelve months, you would have:

  • Completed the markets program rollout plans
  • Reviewed the initial market roll-out outcomes and course correct
  • Identified any media buying and implementation process automation opportunities and worked with technical teams to enable an action plan that is viable based on realistic timelines

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for collecting insights on business requirements and current status, including the Agencies’ and GroupM’s planning and buying requirements; a streamlined implementation flow by Market and Agency; and current practices on biddable platforms covering specialist’s roles & responsibilities
  • Responsible for the delivery of continuous improvement of the media process area (bottom-up) across biddable technologies covering from search, social, programmatic, digital display, video/connected tv and mobile executions
  • Responsible for implementing transformation initiatives for the media process area (top-down)
  • Responsible for driving further process standardization, simplification, centralization and improvement initiatives for the media process area in APAC
  • Work with global and regional practice leads (adops, social, search, programmatic and eComm) to deliver initiatives such as certification, practice excellence across all groupM agencies and markets
  • Work closely with the Reporting RPO to conceptualise and evaluate point to point solutions (from media planning through to campaign closure) to ensure measurement and accountability is appropriately balanced
  • Presents to the Regional Management and Market ExCos and relevant project steercos for initiatives related to the media process area
  • Ensure adherence to regional process policies/controls and perform quality reviews to monitor risks
  • Identify process best practices and scale across markets; provide expert guidance to market teams
  • Provide oversight and adherence to the improvement of the media process KPIs across the Agencies, Centralized Specialist Teams and GroupM Organize regular meetings with local market process SMEs to discuss and align on progress improvement activities and next steps

What you will need:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in the Media Industry with a track record of continuous improvement and strategic partnering in a multinational environment
  • An expert in the media process particularly around planning and implementation needs for agencies to streamline process workflows (including in-platform process and structural variation across APAC)
  • Is Platform agnostic and has strong knowledge on complexity of client adtech stack; spanning across adservers, DSPs, Social Platforms (e.g.FB/Instagram/Twitter), Search (GoogleAds and Bing), evolving eCommerce platforms (E.g. Lazada, Shopee, D2C), media and creative optimizers /AI based solutions
  • Good understanding and experience in process workflows and reporting solutions such as PowerBI, Datorama, Tableau, data studio
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to deal with different nationalities, cultural background and conventions in APAC
  • Leadership skills, excellent motivator, persistency
  • Strong project and change management skills (in an Asian environment)
  • Customer and Quality orientation
  • Ability to work independently and systematically
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Business fluent in English
