Woodside has operated Pluto LNG since start up in 2012. Gas from the offshore Pluto and Xena fields is piped through a 180-kilometre pipeline to Pluto LNG’s single onshore LNG processing train.
Woodside’s development of the Scarborough gas field is through a brownfield expansion of Pluto LNG. The project includes the construction of a second gas processing train (Train 2) that will have a capacity of about 5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa).
51 modules for the Train 2 gas processing train will be constructed at a Module Fabrication Yard located in Batam Island, Indonesia.
Bechtel is seeking an EEHA Inspector to join the Pluto Train 2 Module Fabrication Team in Batam Island, Indonesia.
Pluto Train is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~ 225 Terajoules per day.
On 1 January 2022, Woodside issued Full Notice to Proceed (FNTP) to Bechtel (Western Australia) Pty Ltd and Bechtel International, Inc (Bechtel) for the Pluto Train 2 Project Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope of work. Woodside is Australia’s leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
Position Overview
The EEHA inspector reports to the Lead Discipline Field Engineer (Electrical/Instrumentation).
What you bring:
-Integral part of the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Field Engineering team.
-Reviews material receiving reports and performs material receiving inspections
-Interpret and implement SWPPs, project specifications and procedures, applicable codes, and drawings to ensure that construction installation requirements are met.
-Perform in progress and final quality and completeness inspections of Electrical, EEHA and Instrumentation installation.
-Develop punch lists and monitor completion of punch items.
-Ensure completed work packages and ITRs are submitted to Turnover.
-Issues FMRs for purchase of permanent plant material.
-Prepare and disposition Request for Information (RFI’s), Field Change Documents (FCD’s) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Collaborate with design engineering through to final disposition.
-Coordinate with engineering to resolve E&I design and constructability issues.
-Track and coordinate construction/ field engineering closure of E&I RFI’s/ FCD’s/ NCR’s.
-Provide technical assistance to superintendents, field engineers, subcontractors, foremen, and craft professionals.
-Assist with the development of People Based Quality (PBQ) training material, conduct PBQ surveys and training sessions.
-Assure that proper material storage exists at all Module Yard locations to ensure environmental protection
-Responsible for Electrical and Instrumentation quantity take-off’s, control, verification and reporting installed quantities.
-Maintains As-Built Records.
-Completes Engineering Inspection Requests.
About you:
-University/B.S degree in a relevant engineering discipline is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.
-Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Electrical, EHA and Instrumentation, with at least 2 years in an inspector role.
-Experience with Electrical Hazardous Areas (EHA) and Australian Standards. Must demonstrate expert understanding and working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
-Must have a certificate or Statement of Attainment from a Registered Training Organization (RTO) on competency unit: UEENEEM080A
-Experience in Module Yard LNG construction is preferred.
-Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures.
-Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including Setroute, TEAMWorks, INFOWorks or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects, is preferred.
-Knowledge of Universal Plant Viewer is preferred.
-Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
-Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
Additional Information
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
